Lightbulb Platform request?
Posted by: marywasadj - 06-18-2019, 11:32 AM - Forum: Classadlister Suggestions/Questions - Replies (1)

I would love to see Kidizen added to the platform list! I know it's niche, but I suspect it would be a simple addition. (I know it is possible to list on Kidizen with user scripts so....)  ???

ClassAdLister eBay to Amazon Arbitrage Setup and Usage

Prerequisite: You must have the eBay and Amazon APIs configured and be a subscriber in order to use this Feature.
See the tutorial videos or initial setup section for more information on setting up the eBay and Amazon API. If you are running the Arbitrage report with more than 10 items configured for Arbitrage, please make sure your device is connected to the charger after starting the report. If you do not, the device may go into doze mode and there will be API errors due to Android suspending device activity. If you run the report without the device connected to a charger please make sure the device does not go into doze mode by keeping the screen active.

Setup: Select Manage->Custom Fields.
Tap the Orange + button. Enter “CAL_ARBITRAGE” for the custom field Name.

Optionally enter “>0” for the Match value. “>0” means that anything entered will display the color chosen.
Optionally select a color. This will give a visual indicator on the home screen for items that have been configured for Custom Fields.

Usage: After entering a new item, make sure the item has a valid GTIN entered in the GTIN field (generally a UPC code or ISBN).

Verify this GTIN is valid and can be found with the eBay API and the Amazon API by tapping Search Web. If the item is not found on both eBay and Amazon, configuring the item for arbitrage will not produce any results.

Scroll down to the custom fields section and tap the Arbitrage settings button.

Configure Arbitrage by entering a value for Profit Margin. Profit margin is defined as how much you would like the price difference to be on the configured sites. For example, entering a value of 30 equates to the price must be 30% higher on Amazon than it is on eBay in order for the item to be included on the Arbitrage report.
Optionally enter an eBay Title Filter. The title filter further restricts the search by making sure the item has the text entered included and/or excluded from the title. This field is important and you will need to become proficient at configuring this field in order for the Arbitrage report to be useful. Just including items that match by GTIN on both eBay and Amazon will produce many false positives.
Let's say you are looking for books on eBay/Amazon and you have a GTIN entered that is the ISBN for the book. You run the Arbitrage report and get a false positive because the wrong edition of the book is also found on eBay. You may eliminate this false positive by entering the edition number in the eBay Title Filter. Enter “2nd” for example to make sure that the title has the word “2nd” in it also. After doing that the next false positive is that PDF books are being found on eBay. To eliminate this false positive add -PDF to the eBay Title Filter. Using “-” in front of a word makes sure it is not included in the search. Please note that the “-” must be used in addition with another word, not by itself. So now the eBay Title filter looks like this: “2nd -PDF”. If you would like to exclude many words from the search, put them in parentheses separated by commas after the "-" like this: "2nd -(PDF, eBooks, EBOOK, International)". When testing eBay Title Filters, set the Profit Margin to a really small value, like 1 for example so you may verify the Title Filter is doing what you expect it to do. Refer to the following url for more advanced query options: https://developer.ebay.com/devzone/finding/concepts/findingapiguide.html#usekeywords

When entering many GTINs, make use of the scanner icon on the home page. If you email yourself several GTINs and want to quickly enter them and make sure they are valid and found on both Amazon and eBay, put ClassAdLister in external scanner mode and copy and paste the GTINs into the scanner dialog. When you tap the new item button after spot checking the search was a success, the Amazon thumbnail pic will be pulled also if available. This can be useful when researching items.

To run the Arbitrage report for the current item, tap the "Test Arbitrage Report" button for the item being configured for arbitrage. To run the Arbitrage report for all items that have been configured for Arbitrage, select Manage->Reports/Tasks. Select Arbitrage Report from the drop-down and tap the run button. If the price difference matches what you have configured the item will show up on the report.

Importing Data from a CSV file:
If you would like to import data from a CSV file, here is an example you may use for testing.
CSV Import
Upload the file to your Google drive account.
To import the file, go to reports/tasks and and run the Inventory Import task. Select the file from your drive account and you may practice configuring Arbitrage with the given data. Rename the file and add your own GTIN values. Make sure to remove the dashes from ISBNs if the ones you are researching have dashes included. For title, it is OK to just use a number. When you import the data into ClassAdLister and then tap search web the title will be updated when you tap the update item button. This strategy makes it easy to quickly make a new csv file by just using notepad on windows for example, or your favorite spreadsheet that exports to CSV.

Arbitrage Report Strategies: When running the arbitrage report, the main eBay picture is also pulled and displayed in the Arbitrage report. When the item title filter is insufficient for targeting the correct item, the picture can be very useful. For example, items that have no background around the image are often listed on eBay by experienced sellers with some "stock" photo that many sellers are using. Scan through the arbitrage report and look for real pictures of items. These items are often posted by someone just trying to get rid of some product they don't want anymore and are often the items that have good profit margin for flipping. Currently, the arbitrage report focuses on flipping from eBay->Amazon, but don't forget to list on the other sites also when flipping. You will be surprised how often you pick up a sale from one of the smaller sites. Relist the item on eBay also. Often it is just as easy to purchase an item on eBay, mark it up 30% and relist it for some good profit. The price difference between eBay and Amazon is used as they are the larger sites and have an excellent API interface ClassAdLIster can use, but think of it as more of a guideline. Google shopping is also huge and listing to say eBid or eCrater will get your items on Google shopping and sales can be made for low commissions which means more profit for you. Use the ClassAdLister app to take new photos and then edit the image in ClassAdLister with Google photos to crop the images so they look a little better (underneath the thumbnail in ClassAdLister, tap More->Edit). Use the journal entries to keep track of where you have listed your item so when it sells you know which sites you need to unlist the item if QOH is now zero. Also use the journal entries to keep track of what you have ordered and received.

Limitations: There are limits on how many API calls you may make per day on eBay and Amazon. Consult your API setup on the respective sites for these restrictions. Both sites have similar limitations for your average Joe seller so it is roughly 5000 API calls per day depending on several other factors, but don't quote me on that as it may/can change.
There is no logic to verify you are able to list the item on Amazon. You must do this manually by attempting to the list the item on Amazon first and verifying you do not have listing restrictions for that category. When researching items on Amazon you would like to add to the arbitrage report, click the "sell yours" button and make sure you are able to list the item. Generally they display the UPC code or the ISBN for the item you may use to add the item to ClassAdLister via copy and paste.

Known Issues: Items configured for calculated shipping on eBay do not include the shipping cost when calculating the profit margin.

  How to sync
Posted by: NurseRatched - 11-14-2018, 10:30 AM - Forum: Classadlister Suggestions/Questions - Replies (2)

Hello,
I sent you an email about a link not working that you referred me to in a prior email, and you responded back asking me to ask the question here, so here it is:

I am trying to sync my inventory between 2 devices. You referred me to the following link: http://classadlister.com/support/showthr...d=12#pid12

When going to that link, I get an error message so my issue is still not resolved. I didn't know about this forum until you sent me that link, so I went ahead and created a login, however I'm still getting the same error which reads:

You do not have permission to access this page. This could be because of one of the following reasons:

  1. Your account has either been suspended or you have been banned from accessing this resource.
  2. You do not have permission to access this page. Are you trying to access administrative pages or a resource that you shouldn't be? Check in the forum rules that you are allowed to perform this action.
  3. Your account may still be awaiting activation or moderation. (Resend Activation Code)
  4. You have accessed this page directly rather than using appropriate forms or link.
Please let me know how I would go about syncing my devices.
Thank you! Smile

  ClassAdLister Initial Setup
Posted by: classadlister - 09-30-2018, 02:16 PM - Forum: ClassAdlister How-To - No Replies

Download ClassAdLister from Google Play here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...r&hl=en_US
ClassAdLister requires an Android device, iPhone is not supported. If you would like to use ClassAdLister on your PC you may install the BlueStacks emulator. ClassAdLister uses the subscription model designed and maintained by Google. Subscribers do not see ads nor do subscribers see a small blurb about item listed using ClassAdLister appended to the description field when listing. ClassAdLister runs faster and uses less memory for subscribers as ClassAdLister isn't trying to download ads from time to time. ClassAdLister is a local app with no server component, so there are no privacy concerns as there is no mechanism to acquire any of your information.

A note on using help. When using ClassAdLister you will notice little blue question marks that offer additional help for that specific field or page. Rather than trying to tap the little blue question mark, you may also just tap the word in front of the little blue question mark which is much easier.

In order to maximize the amount of time you can save with Classadlister, you will first need to go through a simple set-up process for each of the marketplaces that you plan to sell on.

From the main inventory screen, click on the yellow "file" button at the top of the screen. It will be on the right side, to the left of the red "exit" button, and to the right of the barcode "scanner" icon.

This will pull up a submenu titled "Manage". From this menu, select "Settings".

Here you will find a pulldown list of all supported sites on Classadlister. This is where you will save all of your login information to speed up the sign in and listing process. You may also enter a phone number, postal code, discount percentage for non-eBay sites, description header and footer, as well as enable and disable sites.

To start, select a marketplace from the pulldown menu. Tap the red "+" button to add a new login for the selected site. In the "login" field, enter your login name. It can be an email address or username for sites that support both, or just the username for sites (like eCrater) that don't use email addresses. For eBay, be sure and use an email address or you will likely get an invalid Paypal address error.

Keep in mind that Classadlister supports an infinite number of sign-ins per marketplace, so you can still use this if you have multiple stores within a site.

Next, enter your password. If you want to see your password, click the "Password" button and the password will be revealed at the bottom of the screen. Entering the password is optional and you may enter it manually when listing an item.

Postal Code: Enter your 5-digit postal code here. It will be auto filled for sites that support postal codes. For countries other than the US, enter the appropriate code here.

Phone Number: Optionally, enter your customer service number or contact number here. This will be filled in as contact info for marketplaces that support it.

Description Header: Have a word, sentence, paragraph, or phrase that you want to appear on EVERY listing under the particular site you're on? Enter it here. It will prepend whatever is entered in the description field.

Description Footer: Same as the header, only the footer will appear at the bottom of the description of every item you post.

Custom eBay/eBid SiteId: By default, Classadlister will take you to the main page of whatever marketplace you choose to post to. Using this function can point the app to a different page on that site, if you wish. If you live outside the U.S., it can also be useful for making your country's eBay or eBid site your default. A list of applicable codes can be found under help for the settings page by tap the word "Settings" to the left of the blue question mark.

Site Enabled: Don't plan on selling on a particular marketplace? Simply uncheck the box.  Now it won't pop up under the list of sites you post to when you go to list an item. If you want to add it at a later date, simply go back to settings, and check the box again.

Site Discount Percentage: Some sites charge a commission when you sell an item, some do not. If you would like to list items at a discount, you may enter a percentage here and it will be deducted from the price before entering the price field for the site.

Get Amazon MWS credentials: Tap this button to pull your Amazon MWS credentials. This is not free and is only recommended for those that are already an Amazon professional seller. More information about Amazon MWS setup may be found here:
https://docs.developer.amazonservices.co...ering.html
After logging in to your Amazon Seller Account, ClassAdLister will automatically pull the fields from Amazon so you do not have to enter them manually.

Obtain eBay developer program credentials: It is highly recommended everyone sign up for the free eBay developer program. It is free to register and if you have already entered your eBay login information, ClassAdLister will populate the login information for you when registering. It is OK to use the same username and password on the eBay developer site as the main eBay site, but keep in mind they may be different. After logging in ClassAdLister will retrieve everything except the user token.

In order to get the user token you must login to your production eBay account. To do that, scroll down to where it says production and tap User Tokens. You may need to turn your device sideways at this point if it is difficult to see the login button. Select Auth n' Auth and tap the Sign in to Production button.

Your credentials will be automatically populated and you may tap the Agree button and ClassAdLister will automatically pull your eBay token.

Now ClassAdLister has everything needed to login to your eBay account and use the eBay API for searching, importing, and listing product. If something goes wrong, you may always manually copy and paste the needed fields into ClassAdLister. In addition, you may do this whenever you wish. I.E. it does not hurt to register over and over again if something doesn't go quite right.

When finished making changes to a particular marketplace, tap the green checkmark save button to save your changes.
