On subject of sync multiple devices with same credentials
Posted by: thankyouclassadlister - 06-10-2020, 08:40 AM - Forum: Classadlister Suggestions/Questions - Replies (1)

I have a dedicated phone but I also use tablet. Wondering if I can use ClassAdLister on both devices and both devices will have same site/user accounts credentials.

Option 1:

Can use ClassAdlister on multiple devices without issues?  Of course I would only use one device at a time and I'll make sure ClassAdLister is completely shut down, not only closed, before opening ClassAdLister on a different device.

Option 2:

If that is not going work (perhaps risk of database corruption due to conflicts etc. maybe??), then I am thinking simply synchronizing the database.  I see I can do import export database. OK. That's seems should work. But I wonder if I can do more conveniently by copying and replacing database files.

I see DB is in Android/Data/com.iss.classadlister/files/classadlister/databases/

What I intent do use is Synchronize Ultimate App on Android and have the database synced (*manually - on demand*).

So Question is:
1) is Option 1 feasible without issues?
2) if Option 2 not going work, will there be an issue now or in the future if I copy the files and replace them (...without going through the procedure of importing / exporting.. )

Thank you.

How import from AirTable to ClassAdLister
Posted by: thankyouclassadlister - 06-07-2020, 07:36 PM - Forum: Classadlister Suggestions/Questions - Replies (5)

First of all - kudos to the developer. I want to say thanks to the developer for making such a project and maintaining it.

I'm experimenting now with Airtable to Classadlister import. I have 100's of items in Airtable. Airtable cells can hold images. The images are hosted by Airtable and their URL's are exposed (e.g. when copying or exporting the data the image address is visible)

Here is an example of a record copied:

Name of the item     999.99    Description of the item.         IMG_20200308_092432316.jpg

Note, the link will be disabled after I delete my test table I created in AirTable just to test this now, so if the link doesn't work it doesn't mean the external links don't work if you make a table.

To clean it up:

If multiple photos attached in Airtable cell, I need to separate the image file name and the actual link to the image because multiple images are just lumped together in CSV export and they show up in one cell in Excel. To separate then, I'll do just import text as CSV or use tool to separate values. So each image will have its own cell:

IMG_20200308_092432316.jpg (https://dl.airtable.com/.attachments/749...432316.jpg)

Now I need one more step to get rid of the image file name (in blue), and the bracket (pink)  and just leave the image link. That's it.  Now the import should into classadlister.

I don't have experience with programming or doing any sort of macros. Going through the import into Excel and trying to clean up looks like OK, but if ClassAdLister was able to do that for me, that would be great.

I'm not checking my emails very often, maybe 3-4 times per month so if I don't respond, I didn't get a chance to read emails yet.

Feature Request: Upload Multiple Images At One Time
Posted by: nnasales - 05-05-2020, 06:01 PM - Forum: Classadlister Suggestions/Questions - Replies (2)

First I want to say thank you again for creating this tool, and for being so responsive to your user's questions and suggestions. Your app has made listing items across marketplaces substantially easier, and has helped me significantly increase my sales.

Would it be possible to upload multiple pictures at one time when adding images through the "File +" option? This is more a quality of life suggestion, so not high priority.

Also, it looks like you are no longer listed in the Google Play store and have shifted to APK downloads only. Does that mean you are planning on ending updates or retiring the app?

Thanks again!

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this forum!

I tried to access and make available the .apk on Windows 10, to no avail. I thought I saw that I could do it, but hope someone can steer me in the right direction. I've tried several Chrome extensions, and other installs from online, but they either don't seem to want to finish, or have other issues.

Thank you very much.

  Amazon Setup Problem
Posted by: dittos - 01-21-2020, 05:15 PM - Forum: Classadlister Suggestions/Questions - Replies (4)

I'm trying to add Amazon AWS credentials, but I know extremely little about what I'm doing. I have added several third-parties to my AWS credentials before (InventoryLab, the BQool repricer, etc.) so I can fumble my way through it.

But I've been returning to ClassAdLister several weeks and just keep giving up. But I really want to use ClassadLister, especially since I subscribed for 6 months.

I keep getting this error message: "The XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."

Then I get this XML code error (assuming I can post a screen shot here of my Android):
[Image: Screenshot_20200121-150625_ClassAdLister.jpg?dl=0]

PERHAPS I'm not doing something initially. Do I first need to tell Amazon, through my User Settings in the AWS area, that ClassAdLister is going to be needing something? I didn't see that in the video or text setup instructions for ClassAdLister.

Thank you so much for any help,
Greg Perry

  Platform Request? (OfferUp)
Posted by: totalcontrol - 01-16-2020, 04:49 PM - Forum: Classadlister Suggestions/Questions - Replies (1)

First off I want to say thanks for all the hard work and effort. The app is almost perfect. It is missing one major platform which is OfferUp. Here in Las Vegas OfferUp is bigger than Letgo or Craigslist etc. If OfferUp was included I could literally use Classadlister exclusively. Thanks for any help in advance and keep up the good work!

Genymotion or other emulator for desktop
Posted by: target100 - 07-28-2019, 03:36 PM - Forum: Classadlister Suggestions/Questions - Replies (1)

It seems Genymotion is now a paid option. Tried to register with them and never received a confirmation. Is this still the preferred emulator for using ClassAdLister on the desktop or is there another one?

I would love to see Kidizen added to the platform list! I know it's niche, but I suspect it would be a simple addition. (I know it is possible to list on Kidizen with user scripts so....)  ???

  ClassAdLister Arbitrage
Posted by: classadlister - 02-26-2019, 11:26 PM - Forum: ClassAdlister How-To - No Replies

ClassAdLister eBay to Amazon Arbitrage Setup and Usage

Prerequisite: You must have the eBay and Amazon APIs configured in order to use this Feature.
See the tutorial videos or initial setup section for more information on setting up the eBay and Amazon API. If you are running the Arbitrage report with more than 10 items configured for Arbitrage, please make sure your device is connected to the charger after starting the report. If you do not, the device may go into doze mode and there will be API errors due to Android suspending device activity. If you run the report without the device connected to a charger please make sure the device does not go into doze mode by keeping the screen active.

Setup: Select Manage->Custom Fields.
Tap the Orange + button. Enter “CAL_ARBITRAGE” for the custom field Name.

Optionally enter “>0” for the Match value. “>0” means that anything entered will display the color chosen.
Optionally select a color. This will give a visual indicator on the home screen for items that have been configured for Custom Fields.

Usage: After entering a new item, make sure the item has a valid GTIN entered in the GTIN field (generally a UPC code or ISBN).

Verify this GTIN is valid and can be found with the eBay API and the Amazon API by tapping Search Web. If the item is not found on both eBay and Amazon, configuring the item for arbitrage will not produce any results.

Scroll down to the custom fields section and tap the Arbitrage settings button.

Configure Arbitrage by entering a value for Profit Margin. Profit margin is defined as how much you would like the price difference to be on the configured sites. For example, entering a value of 30 equates to the price must be 30% higher on Amazon than it is on eBay in order for the item to be included on the Arbitrage report.
Optionally enter an eBay Title Filter. The title filter further restricts the search by making sure the item has the text entered included and/or excluded from the title. This field is important and you will need to become proficient at configuring this field in order for the Arbitrage report to be useful. Just including items that match by GTIN on both eBay and Amazon will produce many false positives.
Let's say you are looking for books on eBay/Amazon and you have a GTIN entered that is the ISBN for the book. You run the Arbitrage report and get a false positive because the wrong edition of the book is also found on eBay. You may eliminate this false positive by entering the edition number in the eBay Title Filter. Enter “2nd” for example to make sure that the title has the word “2nd” in it also. After doing that the next false positive is that PDF books are being found on eBay. To eliminate this false positive add -PDF to the eBay Title Filter. Using “-” in front of a word makes sure it is not included in the search. Please note that the “-” must be used in addition with another word, not by itself. So now the eBay Title filter looks like this: “2nd -PDF”. If you would like to exclude many words from the search, put them in parentheses separated by commas after the "-" like this: "2nd -(PDF, eBooks, EBOOK, International)". When testing eBay Title Filters, set the Profit Margin to a really small value, like 1 for example so you may verify the Title Filter is doing what you expect it to do. Refer to the following url for more advanced query options: https://developer.ebay.com/devzone/finding/concepts/findingapiguide.html#usekeywords

When entering many GTINs, make use of the scanner icon on the home page. If you email yourself several GTINs and want to quickly enter them and make sure they are valid and found on both Amazon and eBay, put ClassAdLister in external scanner mode and copy and paste the GTINs into the scanner dialog. When you tap the new item button after spot checking the search was a success, the Amazon thumbnail pic will be pulled also if available. This can be useful when researching items.

Arbitrage Report with eBay Title filter of 5th for same item:

To run the Arbitrage report for the current item, tap the "Test Arbitrage Report" button for the item being configured for arbitrage. To run the Arbitrage report for all items that have been configured for Arbitrage, select Manage->Reports/Tasks. Select Arbitrage Report from the drop-down and tap the run button. If the price difference matches what you have configured the item will show up on the report.

Importing Data from a CSV file:
If you would like to import data from a CSV file, here is an example you may use for testing.
CSV Import
Upload the file to your Google drive account.
To import the file, go to reports/tasks and and run the Inventory Import task. Select the file from your drive account and you may practice configuring Arbitrage with the given data. Rename the file and add your own GTIN values. Make sure to remove the dashes from ISBNs if the ones you are researching have dashes included. For title, it is OK to just use a number. When you import the data into ClassAdLister and then tap search web the title will be updated when you tap the update item button. This strategy makes it easy to quickly make a new csv file by just using notepad on windows for example, or your favorite spreadsheet that exports to CSV.

Arbitrage Report Strategies: When running the arbitrage report, the main eBay picture is also pulled and displayed in the Arbitrage report. When the item title filter is insufficient for targeting the correct item, the picture can be very useful. For example, items that have no background around the image are often listed on eBay by experienced sellers with some "stock" photo that many sellers are using. Scan through the arbitrage report and look for real pictures of items. These items are often posted by someone just trying to get rid of some product they don't want anymore and are often the items that have good profit margin for flipping. Currently, the arbitrage report focuses on flipping from eBay->Amazon, but don't forget to list on the other sites also when flipping. You will be surprised how often you pick up a sale from one of the smaller sites. Relist the item on eBay also. Often it is just as easy to purchase an item on eBay, mark it up 30% and relist it for some good profit. The price difference between eBay and Amazon is used as they are the larger sites and have an excellent API interface ClassAdLIster can use, but think of it as more of a guideline. Google shopping is also huge and listing to say eBid or eCrater will get your items on Google shopping and sales can be made for low commissions which means more profit for you. Use the ClassAdLister app to take new photos and then edit the image in ClassAdLister with Google photos to crop the images so they look a little better (underneath the thumbnail in ClassAdLister, tap More->Edit). Use the journal entries to keep track of where you have listed your item so when it sells you know which sites you need to unlist the item if QOH is now zero. Also use the journal entries to keep track of what you have ordered and received.

Limitations: There are limits on how many API calls you may make per day on eBay and Amazon. Consult your API setup on the respective sites for these restrictions. Both sites have similar limitations for your average Joe seller so it is roughly 5000 API calls per day depending on several other factors, but don't quote me on that as it may/can change.
There is no logic to verify you are able to list the item on Amazon. You must do this manually by attempting to the list the item on Amazon first and verifying you do not have listing restrictions for that category. When researching items on Amazon you would like to add to the arbitrage report, click the "sell yours" button and make sure you are able to list the item. Generally they display the UPC code or the ISBN for the item you may use to add the item to ClassAdLister via copy and paste.

Known Issues: Items configured for calculated shipping on eBay do not include the shipping cost when calculating the profit margin.
